I will assume you will have many candidates that are interested in your position. It is important that you stay focused on the overall objective, which is to find the best possible person for the job. This may sound like an oversimplification, but too many hiring managers don’t take the hiring process seriously enough and end up hiring based on a superficial criteria in order to make a quick hire. This leads to costly and unproductive results for the candidate, the hiring manager and the company.
