To become someone that others want to champion requires a person to demonstrate one of the key components of a Nu-Collaboration(TM) mindset, that component being Stakeholder Relationship Management(TM). You need to develop a relationship(s) where someone respects you as a person, your professionalism, your skills, the results you achieve, and for your dedication to the company.
Here are a few suggestions that will get you started:
Identify someone within the company that is highly respected and that you interact with as a normal part of your job; preferably someone in upper level management.
Your goal is to establish a relationship with the person you identified by doing some of the following:
If you can find such an individual that is also willing to Mentor you, then you have a greater chance of developing a champion.
